BMW Group kicks off road test with electric MINI!

Date: July 09, 2008, posted by Anke Herder

Number ONE is the strategy, MINI delivers the cars, and the alternative engines will be powered 100 percent by battery electrics.

Take on your seatbeld and stay put - BMW Group is on the move again. Pure driving pleasure in MINI packages - several hundred MINIs will be travelling from Oxford, UK, to the BMW plant in Munich to get turned into an all electric version of their former self.

Fully stuffed with emissiofree power they then will undergo test runs and gradual improvement in the next 12 to 18 months . First results of these tests will be published at the end of the year.

It's just a first step, as Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, puts it or let's say literally a MINI step but the blogosphere like autobloggreen expects it to be just the beginning of the electrical history by BMW Group.

She is one of Germany`s most renowned actresses: Martina Gedeck earned her outstanding reputation in movies like the Oscar-winning “The Lives of Others” or “Bella Martha”. She is noted for her careful choice of roles and her sincere screen incarnations of characters – which she impressively demonstrates again as Ulrike Meinhof and Clara Schumann in movies coming up this year.
