Anke Herder Anke Herder is a freelance writer, living and working in Berlin. Born in April 1978, she holds a M.A. in politics and German literature. During her time as a student she gained experiences in several politics and culture departments including the newspaper "Süddeutsche Zeitung" in Munich.
 
Interested in other cultures she worked in a language department with international students and lived in Canada and the US. Before joining the Club of Pioneers as editor she gained insight into the diplomatic world in Los Angeles and Berlin, working for the diplomatic network TheCorps.

Ross von Burg Ross von Burg resides in New York City, where he is an independent media consultant & writer. He specializes in politics, sustainable urbanism and current events and currently works as the Vice President of the Gaia Amazon Foundation, an NGO which works to guarantee indigenous rights in the the Amazon basin.
 
Currently he is working with the Chicago Climate Exchange to develop an avoided deforestation carbon sequestration project in that region. In New York he works to promote the implementation of laws, development grants & tax credits to encourage the construction of Green Roofs and greener streetscapes in the city.

Anna Benjamin Anna is from Australia, but lives and works in Berlin. She worked last year for 10 months at the Guizhou International Co-operation Centre for Environment Protection in China.
 
She has completed a Masters Degree in International Development at the University of Melbourne, where her research focused on underdevelopment in First World countries. She has recent fieldwork experience in China and East Timor, involved in grass roots environmental initiatives.
 
She is excited by the opportunity to participate in meaningful discussions about sustainability.

Jörg Frommann Joerg Frommann is born in 1974 and works as a freelance journalist in Berlin. He holds a M.A. in German literature and Theatre and Media Studies.
 
Since 2003 Joerg works as an editor for a television and radio producing company. Among other things he is responsible for the content of science and mobility broadcasts. He is also a founding member of the videoproduction company formatwechsel.tv.
 
Due to his interest in the cultural impacts shaping our time, he also worked for ZEITonline and Kulturaustausch, a magazine for cultural exchange, which is enabled by the German foreign ministry. Focussing the rapid political, cultural and technological changes of our time, sustainability has got a special meaning to him.

Lars Thomsen Joni is a writer and arts manager living in Berlin since 2003. She was born in October 1975 in Johannesburg.
 
She gained her degree in Art History and theory in Sydney, Australia and since then has edited and written for numerous magazines and journals. She has also directed numerous festivals, focusing on emerging technologies, online media and activism. She is a founding member of Free Soil an international collaboration of artists, researchers and gardeners.

Erik Schmitt Erik Schmitt, born in 1980 in Worms, studied communications in Munich, Berlin and Melbourne. Since earning his degree in 2006, he has worked in Berlin as a freelance filmmaker. For one of his projects he travelled to Borneo shooting the film "Kalimantan" about the culture of Orangutans. He is also co-founder of NON SQUARE PIGS.
 
For Club of Pioneers he has filmed and produced videos and is now part of the Solartaxi-Crew travelling around the world. Check out his videos here documenting his solar-travels.

Karolin Schneider Karolin Schneider is a student of Marketing-Management (MA) in Eberswalde, Germany. She is a trained TV-Producer and worked as a freelancer on different media projects. Interships at Deutsche Welle, rbb or YetiFilm increased her wish to become a journalist.
 
While working on new ideas of using solar energy, she joined the Club of pioneers to sharpen her profile as beeing a future scientific journalist.

Alexander Görlach Alexander Goerlach, born in December 1976, holds a M.A. in Politics and German literature and a PhD in Theology.
 
He has worked as a Journalist for German Television "ZDF" in the News and Culture Department for almost seven years. He also was the correspondent writer for the newspaper "Die Welt" in Munich. In southern Germany he covered the efforts undertaken in the field of alternative energies, especially solar energy.
 
Before joining the Club of Pioneers Alexander worked as a deputy spokesman in the German Parliament.
